Today We Found Masse After 9 Weeks!

I got a call from Shannon around noon, she said you'll never believe it... I have Massee in the Car with me.

We had both called each other in the past expecting one another to say Massee was found but that was not what I was expecting when she called and maybe that means I had finally given up hope.

She was dirty, tired, and skinny

Jay was so excited!
I left work immediately and ran to see her. Massee was alarmed when I burst through the front door but then I saw this huge look of relief from her. She had an almost look of embarrassment on her face as if she knew she did something wrong.

Both Shannon and I could not wait to tell everyone but especially my mom. We Face-timed her and for the first time she answered without the help of my dad, albeit she still put the phone to her ear so all we could see at first was red. Once she was looking at us on the phone properly we told her we decided to get a dog and then panned out the camera to a view of Massee. There was a pause from my mom as she was trying to comprehend what she was seeing... then she yelped in joy and started to cry. My mom had always identified with Massee since she was responsible to for us adopting her and she felt the most lost when Massee went missing.

Everyone at work was so glad she was found and impressed by the story that they encouraged me to send in a news tip. I emailed newstips@9news.com and within a minute I got a call from Kelly Sommariva the Assignment Desk Editor. She loved the story and wanted to send a camera crew asap.

That night Massee having chowed down more food than she probably ate all 9 weeks
